Why K9 Inspection?
What to Expect
Training and NESDCA

TRAINING

Bongo, our detection dog and his handlers have gone through a training and certification program by a leader in the industry.  Before joining our team we ensured that Bongo and his trainers met all standards to be considered a Bed Bug Detection Team.

In addition to his daily inspection work, Bongo spends a minimum of one hour per day in training to ensure that he continues to perform accurately.

FALSE ALERTS

To avoid false alerts, Bongo’s handlers attempt to visually verify a percentage of all bed bugs that Bongo alerts on.  This will ensure that you, as the property owner, are getting an accurate inspection of your property.  False alerts from canines are possible and can occur if handlers continue to reward canines for false information.  We make every attempt to prevent this from happening by VISUALLY VERIFYING the presence of live bed bugs after our canines alert.

Be skeptical of any company that fails to perform a visual inspection of the areas the dog alerted on.

Note: Not all areas can be visually inspected and not all bed bugs are big enough to be seen.  IPS will determine on a case-by-case basis how many visual confirmations we need to provide our customers with as accurate an evaluation as possible.

NESDCA

Our canine teams completed the handler training program and then received their NESDCA Accrediatation.  NESDCA (National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association) provides certifications for scent detection dogs.  NESDCA is an independent certifying body.  While NESDCA certifications are not required, Innovative Property Solutions believes that by meeting the NESDCA certification requirements our canine exceeds the standard in the industry.
